James Luther Adams (1901-1994)

James Luther Adams James Luther Adams

Professor Adams of the University of Chicago and Harvard University was a major American social ethicist of the twentieth century. He is well known in a wide variety of religious, political, and intellectual communities, not only in North America but also in Europe and Asia. Adams has been known as a serious scholar and teacher who is consistently involved in prophetic social reconstruction. Surely no major theologian has carried out a wider correspondence with leaders in many fields around the world.
